Parents And The School

Education is a partnership between home and school, and the best learning is achieved when home and school work closely together. Parents can assist by monitoring their child’s progress, and by checking books and homework. They can also help by supporting the discipline structures of the school and
ensuring that students come to school regularly, on time, and correctly dressed.

Contacting The School

We welcome and encourage contact with parents or caregivers about any matter concerning your children/our students. Please feel free to ring the school (phone 296 4400) at any time during school office hours, 8am - 4pm. The school office will put you in contact with, or make an appointment for you to see, the appropriate person - Guidance Counsellor, Subject Teacher, Class Tutor, Dean, Careers Advisor, Deputy Principal or Principal.
As communication between school and home is important, parents are asked to please keep the school office informed of changes of address, work or home telephone numbers.

Reports To Parents

Parents are kept informed of their children’s progress by school reports which are issued three times a year, and by parent interview evenings.
Parents are also kept informed on a variety of school matters by the Principal’s fortnightly newsletter and other school newsletters.

Parents At School

We are always pleased to see parents at school events, functions and parent support group meetings. Also, parental assistance is needed with sports teams, camps, school activities, and working with students who have special needs.
Parents are represented by their elected members on the Board of Trustees, the governing body of the school. Board of Trustees meetings are normally held monthly on the last Wednesday evening of each month at 6pm.
