Senior Subjects

2010 Subject Selection Guide


All students study five subjects.
Extra support is provided for students in English, English as a Second Language, Literacy and Mathematics. Further support is provided for students with special education needs.
Students may select subjects across levels.

Level 1


The National Certificate of Educational Achievement (Level 1) will be awarded to people who achieve a minimum of 80 credits, including Literacy and Numeracy requirements. A minimum of 8 credits is required from the specified literacy Sub-fields and a minimum of 8 credits is required from the specified numeracy Sub-fields.

Level 2


The National Certificate of Educational Achievement (Level 2) will be awarded to people who achieve a minimum of 80 credits, of which a minimum of 60 credits is at Level 2 or above, from anywhere on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
