RYDA Road Safety Education Programme - Thursday 23 March
Once again, our Year 12 students have been given the opportunity to attend the RYDA programme. This is an award winning, one day road safety programme designed for
15 - 17 year olds as they begin to drive or ride in cars driven by their peers. This programme challenges young people to change how they think about road safety and lays the foundation for safe road use throughout their lives.
The programme focuses on cognition development, building increased social competency and reliance and encouraging low-risk behaviour. Facilitators work with students to develop and practise personal strategies and life skills which help them to respond positively to challenges on the road, both as drivers as well as influential passengers. It does not teach technical driving skills.
Date: Thursday 23 March
Venue: Bruce Pulman Park
Time: 9am - 3pm
Dress: Students are to wear full school uniform
Details of the event can be found at www.rse.org.nz
