Dear Parents/Caregivers
We hope that you have had time to read through the report that has been emailed home and that is also available on the Helix App and portal. We invite you to discuss any concerns with teachers and/or kaitohutohu during Week 2 and Week 3 (28 April – 8 May 2026). Appointments are available for booking.
We are trialling a more flexible approach so that coming into school is not the only option.
To be able to book an appointment you will need to have access to Helix, then for a student or caregiver to book an appointment;
On the App:
- Mobile App Link
- Select the date
- Select the teacher
- Select a time
On the portal
- Select My Summary button
- Appointments
- Book Appointment
- Select the date
- Select the teacher
- Select a time
When you have booked an appointment please email the teacher with the following details, either;
– you would like an in person meeting – here are the rooms https://docs.google.com/document/d/1P1RZCHT-Mp54sbebFCZ7DhZCxjnhOzP_-broMzFewqc/edit?usp=sharing
– you would like a google meet – they will send you a calendar invite
– you would like a phone call, include your phone number for them to use
Our teacher’s emails are available via our school website https://www.papakurahigh.school.nz/our-community/staff-contacts/
There will be two sessions where you’re able to come into school without an appointment to see most, but not all, teachers but please be aware that there may be queues. These sessions are Tuesday 28 April and Thursday 7 May from 3.30pm to 4.30pm and no appointments are available during those times.
If you have not yet accessed Helix:
Enter the website https://parent.helixsms.co.nz/ into your browser.
- In the email field (top field) enter your school email
- Next click Reset Password underneath the second field
- You will then be emailed a link which you can click where you will be able to create your own password then log into Helix.
Helix Mobile App
This can be downloaded from either Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS). Search for helix sms.
Once installed you will be asked to make up a 4 digit pin then enter your Helix email and password. There is also the option to reset your password.
In the app there is a series of labelled tiles that when tapped bring up information on your contact details, timetable, attendance, NCEA results and related data.
After 3 minutes of non-use the Helix app will log out and require you to enter your 4 digit pin to re-open.
If you are unable to successfully log in please contact their helpdesk stating that you are a parent from Papakura High School and the email address we have sent this to: [email protected]
We look forward to seeing you.
Tēna rawa atu koe,
Lisa Mortimer
Tumuaki Tuarua (Deputy Principal)
