Employment Pathways

We have a strong focus on pathways at our school, preparing students for employment when they leave us, either via tertiary study or straight into jobs. We work with businesses and other partners to give our students the best opportunities.

Our school is committed to meeting the diverse academic needs of all learners. Together, the Gateway and STAR programmes ensure that every student is supported, encouraged, and equipped to reach their highest potential.

Gateway

The Gateway Programme provides individualised support and resources to help students strengthen essential skills and achieve academic success through an employment based pathway.

Gateway combines short courses with work experience to support Year 12 and 13 students to achieve NCEA and gain employment.

To learn more about the Gateway Programme at Papakura High School, contact our Gateways Coordinator.

STAR

The STAR Programme is designed to extend learning opportunities for students by providing funding for courses that support students into further study or employment.

To learn more about our STAR funded course  contact our Gateways Coordinator.

For more information about our STAR funded course see Sandra Paulus our Careers Guidance Teacher.
