We are looking for a full time, fixed term teacher of Social Studies to cover for a staff member who is on maternity leave. Start date is 10/08/2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter by negotiation) and finish date is 02/07/2027.

Experience teaching Junior (Years 9 & 10) Social Studies would be an advantage but not a pre-requisite for the position.

Experience working in a high equity index kura or similar environment would be an advantage.

You will also have the opportunity to engage in project-based learning that is responsive to the interests and career aspirations of our tauira.

The successful applicant will need to obtain registration through the New Zealand Teaching Council before commencing.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $65k to $105k, depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. Actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
