Homeroom Teacher, fixed term

Homeroom teacher, full time, fixed term until end 2026 with the possibility of renewal for 2027, depending on external funding

Are you an energetic passionate teacher who enjoys working with juniors, designing engaging, relevant lessons, and bringing creativity and structure to the classroom?

Experience as a primary/intermediate school teacher would be an advantage for the position.

Experience in a high-equity index kura or similar setting is a requirement for the position.

We are looking for someone special to support students who have been disengaged with formal education and need the routine offered by a homeroom situation to get them used to the demands of a secondary school.

We value teachers who:

  • Have high expectations for students and themselves
  • Are reflective, collaborative, and culturally responsive
  • Embrace innovation and digital tools
  • Love working in diverse, vibrant environments (75% Māori and Pasifika learners)

What we offer:

  • A supportive, collaborative team
  • Freedom to innovate and take risks
  • A culture that celebrates fun, creativity, and connection
  • Students who are eager for meaningful learning experiences and teachers who believe in them.

You will also have the opportunity to engage in project based learning that puts our students at the heart of all that we do.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $66k to $105k, depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.

Applications to include a cover letter, cv and the completed application form (see below).

Please address all queries and your application to Philippa Kaisser, Principal’s EA
