Fully trained and qualified teacher to teach our Whaia te Amorangi kura Tuakana senior class.
This is a full time, two year fixed term position commencing on 23 January 2024.
We are looking for a fully trained, experienced teacher to teach in our Whaia te Amorangi kura Tūākana senior class.
This is an academy programme for students at risk of disengagement from education that has been running successfully in our school for four years and has just been expanded to include a junior class.
The successful applicant will possess the following:
* a genuine passion for working in a high equity index environment and for making a difference in students' lives
* some experience of working with Māori and Pasifika students
* the ability to work independently as well as as part of a team
* a genuine passion and commitment to raising students' achievement
* the ability and willingness to adapt to different methods of teaching and learning
* current New Zealand Teacher registration and certification
* the ability to create a programme of study to suit an alternative classroom environment incorporating external providers
The abililty to engage with a range of differing pastoral needs would be an advantage.
The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $62k to $95k, depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. We are looking for a passionate teacher of Hard Materials (Wood) Technology to grow and develop our small but busy department.
This is a full time, permanent position commencing on 23 January 2024.
The position would ideally suit somone who is passionate about raising students expectations and achievement.

Youth Worker
We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated person with a passion for working with young people, to join our pastoral care team.
Your role will include setting up and overseeing support programmes for our students as well as setting up and running or overseeing lunch time activities. You will also mentor students, one-on-one or in small groups.
To start on 23 January 2024, this is a two year fixed term contract ending on the last day of term 4, 2025, with the possibility of renewal at the end of the fixed term.

Driver - part time
We are looking for someone to drive our students in the school car to their courses in the morning and to collect them and bring them back to school in the afternoon, several days a week, term time only.
The successful applicant will be 100% reliable, have a clean, full New Zealand driver licence, will be over the age of 25yrs and have the ability to get on well with our students. The successful applicant will need to return an acceptable Police Vetting check.

Part time, permanent support staff position
Careers Assistant / Arts Coordinator.
To start as soon as possible.
We are looking for someone to assist in two areas of our kura, working for ten hours per week as Careers Assistant and five hours per week as Arts Coordinator.
Hours of work are negotiable with the relevant Head of Department and are subject to review annually.
Would suit someone who is looking for varied work with somewhat flexible hours. Occasionally these hours might be outside of school hours, but term time only.

Part or Full time Teacher of Dance
We are looking for a permanent part time teacher of Dance or a permanent full time teacher of Dance with other subjects to start as soon as possible by negotiation. Please state other subjects.
Knowledge of Ngā Toi Māori would be an advantage, either as a competitor/performer or as a tutor, but is not a prerequisite for the position.
We may be able to offer a scholarship for a teaching qualification for the right applicant who already has a degree.
We are a culturally vibrant, growing school. Approximately 60% of our students identify as being Māori and a further 20% as Pasifika. The successful applicant with have a passion for teaching at a high equity index kura, and a genuine commitment to raising achievement. They wil lhave high expectations of students and themself.
